Ok, so I followed instruction on how to update my server, I downloaded the tzdata for FC2, and went to do a timeconfig. I selected CST and did *not* check the checkbox that says "UTC", however now when I do a "date" I see UTC instead of CST:

Sat Mar 10 15:08:18 UTC 2007

Also as you see, it's not yet 15:08 unless that refers to UTC. I went back into timeconfig and made sure that box wasn't checked, tried checking the box (in case it got reversed some how) and tried checking then unchecking the box. I have Plesk installed and went into Plesk, set my timezone, tried to change my time back to the right time, but it wont' change back. doing a date still has the same results (that date above was pulled after the plesk changes). on top of that doing a zdump -v /etc/localtime | grep 2007 now produces no results. Any ideas?

More information....

My whole /etc/localtime (now linked to America/Chicago) only has these records in it:

/etc/localtime Fri Dec 13 20:45:52 1901 UTC = Fri Dec 13 20:45:52 1901 UTC isdst=0 gmtoff=0
/etc/localtime Sat Dec 14 20:45:52 1901 UTC = Sat Dec 14 20:45:52 1901 UTC isdst=0 gmtoff=0
/etc/localtime Mon Jan 18 03:14:07 2038 UTC = Mon Jan 18 03:14:07 2038 UTC isdst=0 gmtoff=0
/etc/localtime Tue Jan 19 03:14:07 2038 UTC = Tue Jan 19 03:14:07 2038 UTC isdst=0 gmtoff=0

Although my time is right now, it still says UTC:

Sat Mar 10 09:24:11 UTC 2007

Viewing /etc/sysconfig/clock says UTC is "false":

ZONE="America/Chicago"
UTC=false
ARC=false

hwclock also shows UTC:

Sat 10 Mar 2007 09:25:39 AM UTC -0.332709 seconds
