I use AMSN too. Which version do you use? Perhaps it is a general problem.
As soon as I get home I will find out.

amsn 0.96 (11012006)

Ok, I will test it at home. Anyway I am using Kopete to connect to MSN (and it works) so perhaps it is not a MSN problem.
Perhaps rebooting your machine helps.

OOPSS. I forgot to post back.
I have just checked and it seems there is some conflict between Beryl and AMSN: I could not log in using AMSN while in Beryl. Perhaps you can try Kopete, it works fine with Beryl.

Correction:
aMSN 0.96 is working (and logged in) in my Gnome system (FC6) running Beryl through AIXGL. I don't know what your problem is.

Yes you can. Type:
yum search kopete
and when you know the complete name of the package, say kopete.i386 (this is only a guess) type
yum install kopete
But try to disable SELinux first. From Gnome enter to the menu System, then Administration and then Firewall. There you can disable SELinux and try aMSN then.
