Hello yall, i'm new to linux. please take some times to help me out here. first of all, i want to say i have googled a lot and found some solutions, but none of these worked. now let's get into the business. I have 3 hard drives. 2 * 80GB SATA(sda and sdb) for windows XP and 1 * 80 GB IDE(PATA hda) for fedora 6. In addition, I divided the 80 G IDE into 50G for fedora and 30G for FAT32. I'm very sure that I had grub installed in hda. However, every time i power on my pc, it automatically runs XP. even i tried to run the installation DVD and upgrade the default boot system as fedora, it still boots to XP. Please help me out here. here is my info:

Err... what's your boot order device in BIOS? If you installed it to hda, it doesn't mean you installed it into the MBR (which ever drive is set to boot as master)

I think i installed it into MBR as i followed the GUI installation guide.
my boot order is:
1st: dvd rom
2nd: floppy
3rd: hard drive (XP)

Nope, from the looks of it, you installed it onto /dev/hda, not the MBR. As your primary HDD boot is one of the SATA's.

Edit
Anyway, to install it onto the MBR, you will have to run rescue mode, chroot into /mt/sysimage, and then run:

grub-install mbr
or
grub-install --recheck mbr
