I have 2 xvids which i want to merge into one is there any apps for this on fedora?

Cinelerra is a full Non-Linear Video Editor. You can install it from FreshRPMs.

I will warn you though: it's a little rough around the edges still.

I know about cinelerra i don't want to edit a movie all i want to do is merge 2 AVI's

Which is exactly why Cinelerra was suggested. Most of "Editing a movie" involves splicing and rearranging clips. How is what you are trying to do any different from that?

Take a look at Avimerge , a simple command line tool thats part of the transcode package.

avidemux is great for video editing in general.

If all you need to do is to merge two files you can use the simple cat command:

cat file1.avi file2.avi > filemerged.avi

I'm not 100% sure it will work with AVIs but I'm thinking it should.
