Hi, i am a new comer. Your help are really appreciated!

1. When I entered Add/Remove Software, system showed the Retrieving Software Information window, but it took a long to run, more than few minutes; is it ok?

2. I didn't install some module (mysql server, etc...) when I installed Fedora 6 , I installed Fedora 6 from a DVD. Now I want to install these modules from Add/Remove Software, but it seems Fedora download the files from internet! How can install them from DVD under Add/Remove Software?

easyway just install the rpm from the dvd...
rpm -i packagename.rpm
if it needs dependancies it should tell them to you, if those dependencies need dependencies welcome to dependency hell, so this is probably a harder way depending on the package

hardway: http://www.city-fan.org/tips/YumRepoFromImages or http://fedoranews.org/cms/node/1055

yum is the program and pirut is the frontend (add/remove software)

GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND!!!
