View Full Version : Custom kernel freezes my system

Hello,
I 've been having this problem since I compiled my kernel: the system freezes, and i can't even go to console with CTRL-ALT-F1... I can't restart X server, the mouse is frozen too, all I can do is press the reset button. This occurrs with the fedora sources and vanilla.. the last one i compiled was kernel 2.6.20 from kernel.org and the problem persists... when I use the one that comes with fedora (not the .src.rpm, but the .rpm), i don't have this problem. I can't find any error message, it just freezes and it won't come up... and it's obviusly a kernel problem. So, what option in the kernel might be doing this? Again, i get no errors when i boot the system. Any ideas will be appreciated... thanks!

P.S. : the freezes are at random times... i don't know exactly what is triggering this. I might be using firefox, or watching streaming at youtube, etc...

This is what dmesg returns:
