I mostly use Gnome for my desktop computer but I wanted to try KDE. So I installed KDE and I cannot figure out how to manage KDE's Packages. Such as I would like to remove Kmail because I only use thunderbird. Any help would be appreciated

MMM, I am afraid KDE and GNOME share package manager. However you can try the "Control Center", there you may be able to configure how file associations and default programs behave. As far as I know Kmail is bundled with more software in a single package, perhaps KDEPIM, not sure, you can check that and if you don't need any of the 'other' software you can remove that package through yumex.
