I dont like that 'beep' when presented with a login screen.
And what about a small sound file to play when it shows you the gui screen just like windows?

ok, thankyou.
What I would really like is something like ubunuts does at login. They play a little drum roll sound file.
Then when it boots up lets hear a little welcome music.
or something like that.

Hello:
In Gnome you can Select /System /Preferences /Sound and then the Sounds tab and set different options there.
I have never played with them, however, as far as I know it works.
