Hey guys,

I think I got a simple question for ya all.
I managed to install Dreamweaver 8 with wine. What I did was giving in this command in the shell "wine dreamweaver8.exe". The installation process began and it finished as well. At the end of the installation process I ticked the box "Launch Dreamweaver" and it actually launched and worked just fine!!
So far so good. Then I closed dreamweaver and now I have no clue how to launch it again except from installing it again. So my question in a nutshell: How do you launch a windows application after you installerd it with wine? Or did I installed the application the wrong way?
Many thanks in advanvce for your help!!!

Grtz

Launch Wine's file browser "Wine File," change the directory to c:/ and look for the app in program files... like Windows.

thanks for your answer, but like I just said. it's not there. Only a directory common files which is empty.
Is it posible I installed it the wrong way.
Cause I know I can install it again and it will still not be there.
What do I do wrong?

Launch the install exe from within winefile - I've never installed an exe program from the command line before.

mmmh
I had this output:
[root@localhost media]# find ~ -iname \*.exe
/root/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Common Files/InstallShield/Driver/10/Intel 32/IDriver.exe
/root/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Macromedia/Dreamweaver 8/JVM/bin/rmid.exe
/root/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Macromedia/Dreamweaver 8/JVM/bin/javaw.exe
/root/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Macromedia/Dreamweaver 8/JVM/bin/rmiregistry.exe
/root/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Macromedia/Dreamweaver 8/JVM/bin/keytool.exe
/root/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Macromedia/Dreamweaver 8/JVM/bin/javac.exe
/root/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Macromedia/Dreamweaver 8/JVM/bin/java.exe
/root/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Macromedia/Dreamweaver 8/JVM/bin/policytool.exe
/root/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Macromedia/Dreamweaver 8/JVM/bin/tnameserv.exe
/root/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Macromedia/Dreamweaver 8/Dreamweaver.exe
I was looking from my user folder instead from the root folder...
So, when I'm logged on as a normal user, how do I launch the stuff?
Do I have to browse everytime to the programe files folder?

first of all try to install Dreamweaver as normal user, then give the command:

wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Macromedia/Dreamweaver 8/Dreamweaver.exe

it should work...

I just found out you could install it as a normal user so that's what I did.
I modified your launch command into "wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Macromedia/Dreamweaver\ 8/Dreamweaver.exe" and... it worked!!
Great, you are really helping me out here.
Final question: Can I create some sort of a shortcut on my desktop to launch it? or is that not possible with wine?

In GNOME you just right click on the desktop and select “Create Launcher”.

I use Gnome and was able to create the starter.
In the field command I gave in:"wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Macromedia/Dreamweaver\ 8/Dreamweaver.exe" but that didn't work unfortunattely. I don't get any error messages, nothing happens.
I tried to create the starter as an application and as a shell application.
Is the command worng?

just put the following line(with double quotes)in the command field:

wine "~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Macromedia/Dreamweaver\ 8/Dreamweaver.exe"

As a last try for today:

wine "c:\Program\ Files/Macromedia/Dreamweaver\ 8/Dreamweaver.exe"

I appreciate your effort a lot but it didn't work either.
If you come up this night with an idea, let me know then.

Got it.
You were very close!
It was: wine "c:\Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 8\Dreamweaver.exe"
So you had to use the windows notation for the directory structure here... :p
Topic can be closed.
Thanks everyone who helped me out here!
