View Full Version : Motorola SM56 on ASUS AF6

Hi to all
I apologize for this thread.
I'm really newby on linux so i've decide to install fedora 6 on my new laptop.

Unfortunately, fedora doesn't recognize modem, i've read some thread about it but i can't do that.
I've no internet connection (i'm behind a firewall) so yum doesn't work.
I've tried to install driver download from motorola site, using rpm, but i got:
Checking version compatibility.
Kernel version 2.6.18 not supported.
Current supported versions are
error: %post(sm56-06.05.00-1.i386) scriptlet failed, exit status 1

I've found another thread talking about a driver from www.sm56.tk, but unfortunately it's only for gcc 3 and not for gcc4.

I need modem to bypass firewall.

How can do that ?

Thank Mike
