Is there any reason that /sbin is not in the PATH in Fedora Core 6? Some other distros do this by default. In other words, is there any reason that I cannot issue this command and go on my merry way?

"PATH=$PATH:/sbin"
"export PATH"

I first noticed this when attempting to run fdisk...

It's better to 'su' to root in a Terminal like this:

su -

su space dash

Then you can run fdisk.

I think it's a matter of taste. you can change the behaiviour anyway :)
