Hello everybody
I tried to install drivers for my old gefoce4 graphic card, but at the end of the installation process, an error message appears, and I can't of course finish the installation. I can't reallyunderstand what goes wrong during the installation. Is there some way to solve this problem? Is it a common problem?
Thanks

What distro are you using? Are you trying to install by using the nvidia script?
Have you tried just using the kmod from livna?

For example: I'm using FC6

rpm -Uhv http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-6.rpm
rpm --import http://rpm.livna.org/RPM-LIVNA-GPG-KEY

yum install kmod-nvidia

What kind of error message do you get?

the message says that the kmod I'm trying to install, conflicts with the kernel

The kmods are matched to the kernel. Have you run a yum update to get the latest kernel and not using a home made kernel?

For example: My box looks like this...
# uname -r
2.6.18-1.2869.fc6

# rpm -qa |grep kmod-nvidia
kmod-nvidia-1.0.9631-1.2.6.18_1.2869.fc6

You also need a i686 kernel

no, I used yum to update the kernel. Excuse me for my ignorance, what you mean with home made?
