Hello,
I just installed Fc6 today.
My computer is set up as a dual boot with fc6 and windows xp home, and everthing works smoothly, I can boot both successfuly. Fc6 is set as my default and after 3 seconds it boots. What I am wondering is if it is possible to have neither as default (neither automatically boots) or failing that, can i increase the timeout. As well I have 2 Fc6s in the boot menu, can I get rid of one? I have used windows all my life and have no experience with linux so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

You must to edit /boot/grub/menu.lst

You can change timeout to extend the time for an automatic start, timeout value is in seconds.

If you have FC 6 2 times, in the same file you have 2 repeated blocks of lines starting with "title", delete 1 of these, but beware, there is a line begining with "default", its value poin to a block started by default and it begin counting in 0 for the first block.

Check:

info grub

for details
