Hi, I have just change my fedora 5 display setting from 1024 by 768 poxels to 1152 by 864 pixels and was ask to log off. The problem is, when I log off and restart the system my moniter start to blink. I am able to log in using my password blindly bit I and not able to see anything on my moniter. Is there any way to restore my display setting to 1024 by 768 pixels?

There is only 1 backup /etc/X11/xorg.conf file at any one time. [Unless you have one saved elsewhere]
So if you have tried to boot inot level 5 more than once the old file is gone, being replaced by the last instance of X starting.
Therefore, either boot into level 3 or use your FC install disc and use linux rescue [you need to be root] and
vi /etc/X11/xorg.conf
and replace the problem mode with the correct mode.
use your cursor to move around in vi and type i to insert and make the changes. When you are finished hit the esc key and then SHIFT zz to save and write the changes.
Type exit and reboot.
The other option is to add the following to your kernel boot line
mode=vesa resolution=800x600
your kernel boot line will look like this
........ rhgg quiet mode=vesa resolution=800x600

then re-configure your system-config-display / xorg.conf
