Hello,
is there any command to know the users that are working on a system.What i mean is I wnt to know the users other than root.
I am using FC5 right now.

But is there any way to find the users that are not only online(working) but also offline(not working)??

offline? hmm..
if you type 'w' at the terminal, you will see EVERY one who is logged on the machine even one is not working (here you will get -bash in WHAT column)

look into the file /etc/passwd
Everyone who has not /etc/nologin, but something like /bin/bash as the shell (last phrase of each line) is a real user of this system.
