Anyone know how to get it (MMS) to work?

Error is: "URI handler is not implemented for MMS".

You'll need to change the app to totem. It's not broken it was just never there.

Are you using FC6? I don't think you are.
Totem is there and so is GStreamer.
MMS handler is registered at the Gnome level (GConf key: /Schemas/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/mms)
Firefox passes MMS protocol to Gnome desktop when it's not registered in Firefox, as it is now, which then launch Totem. However, Totem doesn't handle MMS even when GStreamer is already installed by default.

Sorry I don't use Totem so I wouldn't know. I use Mplayer and that was the only thing I needed to do to get it to work.
So..........sorry for assuming that Totem would be the same.

That's ok, no worries.

mplayer and the mplayerplug-in used to work nicely on FC6...until a recent yum update that somehow broke the mplayerplug-in in Firefox. This then rendered my FC6 installation back to launching Totem. A re-installation of mplayerplug-in didn't re-enable it within Firefox (for some unknown reason).

So, I'm now asking myself this:
Fact 1: FC6 official distribution comes with Totem and GStreamer.
Fact 2: Gnome is set to launch Totem for MMS protocol.
Fact 3: GStreamer is supposed to be capable of handling MMS protocol.
Fact 4: Totem is supposed to be capable of playing whatever GStreamer or Xine can.
Fact 5: Firefox passes MMS to Gnome.

...All that put together should mean Firefox should be able to notice MMS and play it in Totem. But it doesn't as of this moment (with a default installation and only using the official repo). This is why I consider this supposed-to-have function/feature is broken somewhere along the line. This is also one reason why this distro isn't going to make it to mainstream desktop any time soon (A simple, supposedly implemented feature is currently messed up).

The mms support is in gstreamer-plugins-bad. My installation is from freshrpms. I just tried playing:-

$ gst-launch playbin uri=mms://wm.bbc.co.uk/news/media/avdb/news/video/63000/bb/63454_16x9_bb.wmv

and it plays fine.

I had to uninstall totem-mozplugin to allow the realplayer10 plugin to work.

As for the politics see:

Thank you so much. That got rid of a ton of headache for me and solved the problems I had.

Maybe the Fedora team should put some kind a popup text in Gnome when a requested feature isn't installed. e.g. Putting "gedit mmsInfo.txt" at Gconf key /Schemas/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/mms/command, so that some kind of more informative details can be available to the user.

Once again, thank you for your reply.
