Are there any available packages to enable volume control in KDE, similar to what gnome has. Also, it would be great to be able to use keybindings for the volume Up, down, and mute buttons on my laptop.

I am unsure of whether I have skipped over the functionality in the menu's of KDE, but I have looked everywhere. Its relatively annoying. Kde uses arts and I have everything configured for alsa, which the volume manager for arts doesn't even control.

Anyways, thank you in advance for any help given.

open kmix. I believe there is an option in preferences to dock in panel. That will put an applet on the panel you can hover the mouse over it and "scroll" the volume or click on it and get a popup volume or doubleclick and get the mixer control

EDIT: Not a doubleclick for mixer but click to raise then click mixer to open

keybindings can be done with keytouch (http://keytouch.sf.net) if they don't work yet.

I am using keytouch but it can not work. The services windows says that its subsystem is blocked. Any idea of who is blocking it?
