Hi,

For once I need to do something practical with a computer. I need to extract some snatches of soundtrack from a DVD to convert it so something like on .ogg file. (I'll then be mixing the .ogg files later, but first thing's first.) I can think of several possible ways of tying to do this, but could someone save me time and point me in the direction of a method that's known to work.

Since sound quality's doesn't matter too much with what I'm doing, would a program that records sounds as played to the speakers work? If so, is there a program you can recommend?

Thanks.

There's an answer for you here

However, I use sox for resampling.
