View Full Version : Will gstreamer play m4a's in FC6?

Will it? VLC and Amarok will, but they both use another engine...xine, I think. But the songbird preview, rhythmbox, quod libet...anything that uses the gstreamer back-end will not. When I try to add .m4a's to rhythmbox it gives this error "Interneal GStreamer problem; file a bug" But Quod Libet and Songbird just lock up. I'd really like to use something other than amarok (I don't like having to make a playlist just to hear one song), so help is appreciated.

I have every gstreamer package, by the way.

A quick search on google pointed me to this link for rhythmbox and m4a patch. Search in the page for m4a.

Wow, I don't know how you found that. But, I can't find that file "gsttypefindfunctions.c". And I have every gstreamer package installed.

Not sure where to go from here. but the file mentioned in the post is located here.
http://webcvs.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gst-plugins/gst/typefind/?hideattic=1

Being as old as it is it may already be part of the newest cvs release. Or is obselete.
