ok i installed vlc (yum install vlc) with the livna rpm database :) but when i go to load my dvd the lion king and open the disk vld dies..., i dont really care about what softwhere (i do like vlc alot thoe) but i really need the dvd playing support, for my job :-\

You might have to install the vlc-developement and libdvdcss.
Just a guess and you can try to open the dvd without menus.
Livna has the above mentioned dependency's.
Got yumex? check it out.

thanks yum install *libdvd* did the trick, i know this is off topic but after i was testing the dvd i cant eject here is what it says when i try

[root@localhost chris]# eject
umount: /media/The\040Lion\040King: not found
eject: unmount of `/media/The\040Lion\040King' failed

i already closed vlc :)

You shouldn't have to run vlc as root,logout as root and reboot and login as user and start vlc with the dvd and see if you can eject the media.
