View Full Version : Thundebird Folder Columns (number of messages)

When I used T'bird in Windows (heavens help us :) ), it was possible to have columns beside folders showing the number of messages is folder, number of read/unread etc. This was achieved by clicking on a small icon sitting beside the "Folders" label on the tool bar. This icon does not appear on my Linux FC6 intallation of Thunderbird and it does not show in the 2.0a1 version either. It does however show in the Seamonkey mail client.

Is there something I am missing? I did find this feature helpful.

Also, I have the English dictionary installed and enabled but this is not evident when trying to set the spell check up. It only acnowledges the English/US dictionary?

Thanks
Colin

Try Edit, settings, advanced, show tabs in folders

No such thing on T'bird 1.5.08.

I've got edit/account settings but there is nothing there, or, edit preferences and again nothing.

Found it, you got me looking in the right place - thanks :)

It was edit/preferences/advanced - show expanded columns in the folder pane.

Now all I have to sort out is the spell checking

I had the same problem until I install the Swedish dictionary as root. It took me a while to remember that.
