I have tried to edit /boot/grub/menu.1st putting the vga=extended kernel parameter, but it doesn't work. The machine boots showing that it really uses with 80x50 resolution, but some seconds later the boot process starts, it switches back to 80x25. Could anyone tell me where is my mistake.
Thanks in advance

Apparently you need to change your default system font as well (be aware: as for all other things, font names are case sensitive!):

http://forums.fedoraforum.org/archive/index.php/t-11559.html

However, when I return for a second time in ctl-alt-f1, each single line occupies the space of two; so the bottom half the frame buffer is out of the screen.

(To go around this problem, I blindly type 'exit'; that allows me to login again, and when back in my shell, I get the full 50 lines displayed on my screen. But of course, I'd like to avoid that!)

So if anyone has any hint, you're very welcome!
