Hi,

I think this was largely the same on FC5 too, but I have a pretty fast laptp. 1.5Ghz Pentium M, 9600 128MB class graphics. Yet the thing that conquers it, is Firefox.... scrolling a page taxes the CPU to 100%, and it's so sluggish. Is this a Linux thing in general (to Firefox) or is anyone else experiencing this with FC6?

No, I haven't experienced any unusual slowness. I'm running FC6 with Firefox 1.5.0.8 (before last night, it was 1.5.0.7), and everything seems to be working fine. My CPU is an AMD Athlon XP 2400 (2.4 GHz). I don't know much about laptops.

Thanks for the reply, basically, our processors are equivelant, the XP 2400 is 1.8 or 2.0Ghz in actual fact if I remember. Perhaps it's screen refresh rate, because even on Windows, when scrolling text, the text darkens slightly until you pause it. On Linux this seems to be exaggerated ten fold.

Hello:
Dunno if this will help or not, however, if you haven't already, you may to have a look at your Xorg.0.log and see if there any errors etc.
