I installed fc6 on my acer travelmate 4152 laptop today. However during installation i chose the default packages so that i can test whether fc6 works on my laptop or not. The installation completed successfully and fc6 is running fine now.

Now i want to install the remaining packages from CD i.e. server programs, applications etc.. But when i try to do so from Add/Remove Programs options it tries to get the packages from online repository. I want that it should look for programs in fc6 installation CD and install them from there like it used to do in previous fedora releases. I don't want to install packages from online repository. I know that i can do so by installing rpms from fc6 cd. But then for this i will have to first search each package in 5 cds and also it will fail for dependencies. Add/Remove program installs the dependencies automatically. That is why i don't want to do it manually

Can anyone help me on this?

Thanks.

Hello:
Have a read through here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Bugs/FC6Common
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=188750

There is a workaround offered here: http://www.city-fan.org/tips/YumRepoFromImages

Thanks Seve for the answer. After going through the links i think the best option for me is to reinstall fc6 with all packages selected :(. Creating local repo will be too cumbersome for me as i am using CD not DVD for installation.

Thanks.
