My keyboard seems to be flipping out, and I'm not sure the solution. All of a sudden it's as if the keys are getting stuck down. This wasn't a problem before, and I've tried a reboot, but it's driving me crazy. Every once in a while, it will just repeat a keystroke (including backspace) about ten times (hence the whitespaces above).

Does anybody have any iiiiiiiiiiideas how to fix this? I'm losing my mind...

For what it's worth,,,,,,,,,,, it's a serial keyboard, not USB.

Thanks for ttttttttthe help in aaaaaaaaaaadvance. I'm going to go try switching keyboard types and see if that helps.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! (those last ones were deliiiiiiiiiiberate)

Update: I found a quazi fix, but it's not quite I'm going for. If I go into Keyboard preferences, I can turn off keyboard repeating. This is good, but now the problem is that I can't hold down the backspace button to erase more than one character...help? Please?!

Also, it seems I'm lacking memory in a major way. Does that sound like a culprit to anybody?

I eventually found the solution to this one. It's posted in the other thread regarding losing my mind:

Apparently high CPU usage causes keyboard repition. Great.
