View Full Version : Problem with new kernel on FC6

29th October 2006, 08:23 PM

I am a beginner on Linux OS.
Just for experience, I want to build a new kernel and running it.
I have already installed successfully Fedora Core 6.

Here is what I did :

I got the official kernel sources.
I extracted them in a specific directory.
Then, I copied the FC6 config in this directory
Then, make oldconfig
Then make and make modules-install
And copied the new bzImage in /boot and corrected grub.conf

When I tried to run the new kernel, I got this kind of messages :
insmod : error inserting '/lib/uhci-hcd.ko'=-1 Invalid
and same messages for other modules.

I guess there is a problem with my kernel configuration.
Thank you in advance for any help.
