disappearing firefox in fc5

Hi,
It has now got to a point where I have to use konqueror... firefox simply disappears every 15 minutes or so. If I run from a console I get no messages, nothing. It just disappears. This is particularly annoying as I can't use gmail properly with konqueror...
Does anyone have a similar problem?

I have seen firefox disappear when running into certain sun java plugin errors such as sound card issues on a dual processor system. Sometimes there is a leftover hs_err_pid22429.log (where the number after pid is the process id number of the briowser when it crashed) in your home directory. This usually contains information about the crash.
