Yeah, what the title says...

I'm a completely inexperienced Línux user, and it's kinda frustrating that your programs just quit on you. It has happened with gedit while I was doing nothing but writing PHP code, but it has also happened with Gaim.

Should it make any difference, the bug in the FC6 installer program installed an i586 kernel instead of an i686. (My CPU is an AMD Athlon XP 3000+)

Any help appreciated.

do you have an athlon 64? My athlon is a 64 bit, so I have the iso for x86_64 installed. This is quicker for a 64 bit OS which Win has yet to produce for a home edition of XP.

No, it's not a 64 bit. But do you think that installing another kernel would fix it? Because if it doesn't, then it doesn't really matter to me. I just don't want to lose more of my work.

if you install another kernel , you can still use old kernel just select at boot , just install this rpm.
