Ok, im pulling my hair out now and as soon as someone answers my question im going to feel pretty stupid cause its probably pretty simple.

I have an external lightscribe dvd burner. Using fedora core 6, all my optical media is automatically mounted. My problem is that neither 4L-gui nor 4L-cli can find my external dvd burner (it is mounted, I can see the disc in there if I click on computer. 4L-cli allows you to select which drive you want to use, but I cannot for the life of me figure out which device under /dev is my external dvd drive.

How do I figure this out?

A second option would be to perhaps mount the dvd burner to a directory, then perhaps 4L-gui would see the drive, but I would still need an answer to which device the dvd burner is.

it seems like 4L-gui or 4L-cli looks for sr* devices.
try to symlink cdrom or dvd or even scd* with sr0 or with any other sr* device you have free.

ln -s cdrom sr0
