View Full Version : FC6 Grub problems with SATA disk

Hi All,

I'm trying to install FC6 on my Fujitsu PC with 2 SATA disks of each 200Mb

On the first disk WINXP is installed, so I want to install FC6 to the second disk

Installation runs fine, no problems there.
(winxp on /dev/sda1, FC6 on /dev/sdb1, GRUB on MBR /dev/sda)

When rebooting the first time, it was like grub was not installed en just booted up winxp as usual.
tried to reinstall grub / complete FC6, still same result => no grub

When changing the boot order in the bios (so it first tries to boot from the second disk) I get the word GRUB and that's it.

I also tried to change the order in the grub installation option, but same result :(

Please help, as I waited for FC6 to at last get rid of the last windowze box in the house.

thx!

See if this idea applies, seems to make good sense.

Great, it's similar what I had in mind trying this evening...

I'll update with the result.
