Sep 21 22:04:08 emachine kernel: =======================

I normally leave my PC while at work & for the last few days I have come home & the PC has reboot to the login screen, or just hung with the monitor not waking up which then entails a reboot. I have also in the last few days upgraded the kernel to 2.6.17-1.2187_FC5. I have googled some of the errors & still not to sure what the culprit maybe.
My fstab is
/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 / ext3 defaults 1 1

I have the same problem like yours. It's that kernel that i encounter my problems as well except that i get kernel panic something like that. now icant boot my fedora.

What errors do you get? I take it you mean that now when you try to boot you get the 'kernel panic'?

I also have the same problem on my laptop, the only similarity i can see from your config above is the use of a wireless nic (mine' s a D-Link DWL-G650+ using ndiswrapper 1.22 and windows driver). I manage my wireless network connections via NetworkManager using nm-applet. I'm also using the same 2.6.17-1.2187_FC5 kernel, and get the exact same kernel warnings prior to the machine locking up, which then requires a hard restart.

I also only get this problem when connected to my work's wireless lan, it never happens on my home network, which again makes me think this is related to the wireless nic.

Did either of you guys have any luck fixing this issue?

Cheers

No luck in fixing the problem, & to be honest I would agree with you with regards to the wireless. I too have wireless & use NDISwrapper

ndiswrapper -v
utils version: 1.8
driver version: 1.18
vermagic: 2.6.17-1.2187_FC5 mod_unload 686 REGPARM 4KSTACKS gcc-4.1
albeit a different version & found the problem has only surfaced using the latest kernel.
I have decided to hang tight for either an updated kernel or FC6 which every comes fist (looks like FC6 will win) then take it from there...

lol just after posting my last one, I noticed the new kernel out (2.6.18_1.2200.fc5) along with the kmod for ndiswrapper & nvidia .. cool .. of to try that & then hope...
