View Full Version : TV-out methods with ATI Radeon 7000?

Im wondering if anyone has experience with TV-out via s-video using X and a radeon 7000 graphics card.

Im trying to setup mythtv and im almost done, but im having problems with TV-out.

If I use the radeon drivers, the tv plays great on a monitor, but the TV wont work (display is all messed up and crazy looking). I've tried chaning the refresh rates in xorg.conf but nothing fixed this.

If I change the driver to "vesa" in xorg.conf, it will work on the tv, but it will have a really slow framerate when viewing TV. I've tried everything I can think of and search for to fix this but no luck so far.

So ideally id like some other way to get the tv-out to work and use the radeon drivers at the same time. Possible?

Try atitvout

yum install atitvout

I can only get it to work in text mode. (ATI mobility U1).

I cant get it to really do anything, it sends a flicker at the tv at best. And yea the console stuff looks fine but once X starts it gets all crazy if im using radeon drivers.

Maybe theres some x config tweaks?
