Hi guys...

So, have been trying for some days now, still with no luck, installing lirc.

I used
yum install lirc-kmdl-$(uname -r)
yum install lirc

from ATrpms, for the new 2187 smp kernel.
installation no problem - i then copied the lirc_mceusb2 driver into /etc/lirc.conf.

But the driver still wont work.
Tried initializing it with /sbin/depmod -a
/sbin/modprobe lirc_mceusb2

/var/log/messages:

when i use /sbin/service lircd start i dont get an [OK], and I can't use /usr/bin/irw for reading the IR signals - it says that the file or directory doesnt exist, even though i see the file.

Have been strugling with lirc for quite som time now, and I just canÝt make it work. Could someone give me a hint or suggestion for something i could try.

Thank you in advance.
