I am trying to make my ipw2100 card to work with wpa on fc4
I have upgraded the kernel to 2.6.17-1.2142_FC4
and downloaded wirless tools v28
I saw wirless tools supports WPA but it doesn't seem to do anything to connect.
when I use network configure to activate the dev it works fine but only when WPA is desabled in my router
I'm not sure if I need wpa_supplicant but after not being able to connect when wpa is enabled I've
installed v0.4.9
when I run it i get a bunch of data which runs in loop, from what I could figure out the only disterbing msg
is "ioctl[IPW_IOCTL_WPA_SUPPLICANT]: Operation not supported"
I saw somewhere on the net its not suppose to cose any proble
when I run wpa_cli
I get the following lines over and over again

<2>Trying to associate with 00:0e:2e:5f:eb:58 (SSID='Yhome' freq=0 MHz)
<2>Authentication with 00:00:00:00:00:00 timed out.

if I ask for scan , and scan results it seems to be getting the right info

bssid / frequency / signal level / flags / ssid
00:0e:2e:5f:eb:58 0 0 [WPA-PSK-TKIP] Yhome

so I'm kind of lost in figuring out what the problem google wasn't much help either.
my conf file contain the following lines -

ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant

network={
ssid="Yhome"
scan_ssid=1
key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
psk="my password"
pairwise=TKIP
group=TKIP
proto=WPA
}

and the full output of wpa_supplicant debug is
wpa_supplicant -ieth1 -c/etc/wpa_sup.conf -D ipw -d

wpa_supplicant -ieth1 -c/etc/wpa_sup.conf -D ipw -d

The newer version of ipw2x00 is no longer called by ipw, but the wireless extensions driver. Try invoking the command with:

wpa_supplicant -ieth1 -c/etc/wpa_sup.conf -D wext -d
