View Full Version : Tri-boot

Iím trying to tri-boot: XP, Vista, and FC5. I have each on a separate partition and I have XP and Vista booting and working. The grub is also up and running. The problem is that I have never been able to boot into FC5. Right after the installation I set everything up, user name..., and then rebooted. Then it ran all the way till it starts initializing some of the system processes. It gets to around cups and freezes. It completely locks up and I have to power off the system. It also never freezes on the same process.

Any advice would be appreciated!

FYI I'm running FC5 AMD64

I suspect if you could post you /var/log/messages here it might give some clues.

How bout you boot up from the install disc and at the prompt type: linux rescue
Follow the prompts and once the prompt comes up, do: chroot /mnt/sysimage
Then: cat /var/log/messages | grep "Sep 13" (Obviously you want the date in which you are doing it)
Post/attach the output of that here.
