Currently whenever I view a flash video (haven't tested flash sites that I know of yet) after a few minutes when I go to close another window or something it freezes then I try and log out of gnome and the panel freezes leaving me only access to the backround. Generally I have to go to one of the F1 - F6 terminals and restart the system or x just get entry back. Has anyone else had this problem and a perminent fix for it?

Do you have system sounds enabled in Gnome?

Flash locks the sound device if it is opened 1st, stopping gnome from playing system sounds if you try to click an icon. Gnome tends not to like this and just stop doing anything until the soundcard becomes free.

Not sure if that is your problem, but I have had problems with flash like that in the past.

I have system sounds enabled. I also have software sound mixing enabled. Turned both off going to test flash now.

EDIT: Seems to be working. Guess I'll keep system sounds off.
