Well I know it's possable to make changes to one account. What I want to know is if I can make changes to the entire group at once.

eg.

There will be about 50 accounts, in the student group. I don't want to manually change all the settings for every user, so how can I change the overall settings for everyone in the student group?

I'm not sure what changes you want to make to the accounts but if you are just creating them, the /etc/skel (http://www.bellevuelinux.org/etc_skel.html) directory contains files and directories that are automatically copied over to a new user's home directory when such user is created by the useradd program.

I'm talking about the preferences for the web browser, and all the other programs, as well as the desktop icons and background.
