there is an icon for Iomega Zip drive on the desktop, and clicking it gives a list of files on the disk. But I can't add or remove the files, nor eject the disk. The properties box says mountpoint is /media/iomega zip and device mode is /dev/hdd4/ As a Linux newbie, I don't know what these mean. Would love to remove some files, add others and eject the disk when done. :-) Same for floppy. Please help. Thanks.

Why can't you just copy the files you want to add or remove to the /dev/hdd4 or the /media/zip directory. I would assume this are accessable from the GUI also if you are using X. I think the floppy was /dev/floppy (been a while I last used a floppy). From the gui you can also right-click and select eject or do an eject /media/iomega. I would also think and an unmount would allow you to eject it from the hardware also.

Benjie, here's your response to the LAST 'double-post' warning: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?p=606837#post606837 So, you can't say you didn't know now. I'd suggest you don't do it again.
