View Full Version : Question About tmp Files

I am new to Fedora, as I've been using SUSE for a couple of years. So far, I'm very pleased with FC5 and the support help I've been able to find.

I do have a question in regard to tmp files, I've not been able to locate. In SUSE, I can go into YAST to System to Cron, where I can change the settings so tmp files more than 24 hours old are automatically deleted. Likewise, I change settings so that tmp files are deleted at bootup.

I'm wondering if there is a similar way to deal with tmp files in FC5. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

The script that manages the various tmp files is /etc/cron.daily/tmpwatch. Copy from or edit as desired.

You're welcome.

I tend to just leave stuff in /tmp knowing if I don't use it it will go away after a while.
