View Full Version : Adding LDAP support for PHP

Greetings all.

I have installed my FC5 now for the 3rd time, with success, and followed the yum route for the LAMP server solution described by Firewing1 http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?p=448977

It all seems to work, haven't tested the MySQL yet, but my MediaWiki is working, so I assume it is all fine. Now I have the pleasure of adding LDAP support on this server and wanted to know if there is a yum install for this too?

I need the LDAP function in PHP to make a connection to a MS Active Directory server to get the users details. Anybody out there have a starting point.

I have had a look at a usefull HOWTO on http://forums.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=114542 and some info at http://www.php.net/ldap but still have no clue how to get LDAP support installed in PHP.

If the yum install route is not a option, I guess downloading the source for PHP would be the next step, but I woul like to try the yum route first if possible.

Have a Great day
