How do I know what version of Reiser I'm running? I set my filesystems up during the FC4 install a year ago, and have not upgraded to FC5 yet.

If I'm on Reiser3, will it be converted to Reiser4 when I mount the filesystem on FC5 after a clean install?

If you set up your filesystems in the FC4 installer you have ext3, not Reiser-anything. If you used some other method to set up ReiserFS, it must be ReiserFS-3 because ReiserFS-4 isn't supported in the Fedora kernels.

I beg to differ. Fedora allows you to specify Reiser as filesystem. I have 3 Reiser FS's on my box, including an 897 Gig (on a RAID5 partition):

/var/log/messages.4:Jun 30 14:13:35 neo kernel: ReiserFS: md2: found reiserfs format "3.6" with standard journal
/var/log/messages.4:Jun 30 14:14:18 neo kernel: ReiserFS: md2: using ordered data mode
/var/log/messages.4:Jun 30 14:14:18 neo kernel: ReiserFS: md2: journal params: device md2, size 8192, journal first block 18, max trans len 1024, max batch 900, max commit age 30, max trans age 30
/var/log/messages.4:Jun 30 14:14:18 neo kernel: ReiserFS: md2: checking transaction log (md2)
/var/log/messages.4:Jun 30 14:14:18 neo kernel: ReiserFS: md2: Using r5 hash to sort names

So, assuming I'm on Reiser3, when/if Reiser4 makes into the kernel, will my Filesystems be upgraded to Reiser4?

I don't think a kernel updates your partitions in an upgrade. I suspect a user has to do that step manually.
