Recently for some reason that I can't seem to figure out I've started getting the below error when I log into my FC5 machine.

This program cannot start until you start the dbus system service.
It is strongly recommended you reboot your compter after starting messagebus.

I get a dialog with this message in a dialog when I log into gnome, and when I dismiss it, everything seems okay. Any idea what might be causing this?

You killed bdus daemon

Amongst other things, hardware will not be autodetected by gnome.

There is a service that you disabled, that manages dbus

Run system-config-services and figure out which one it is.

I think hald, and messagebus are the services you should enable

That was it, messagebus wasn't running, its weird, I don't remember turning that off. Oh well easy fix, thanks.
