Hello!
I have default FC5's layout except for /home on separate ext3 logical volume. After system crash i get swap partiton gone, / and /home unmountable.
/home is ext3 so i easily recover it with fsck ... question is what to do with / ? It's LVM and fsck cant recover it.

Play with pvscan, vgscan, and lvscan. One of them will point you in the right direction.

I've tried lvm vgchange --ignorelockingfailure -P -a y and lvm vgscan under rescue console ... and get /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 and LogVol01 ... but fsck failed to recover it :(

You're probably being a bit previous.

What exactly are you trying to fsck?

e2fsck -p /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol01

e2fsck -p /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol01

What does that do?
What happens when you try to mount that filesystem?

When i try to mount partiton it says something like "incorrect superblock or filesystem type".
e2fsck does nothing but prints message that is similar to mentioned above and suggests to try it with -b <another block size> ... with -b it does exactly the same.
