http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=101185&page=2&pp=15

In this article this code displays video perfectly from the command line,

mplayer -cache 512 mms://a1503.v108692.c10869.g.vm.akamaistream.net/7/1503/10869/v0001/mlb.download.akamai.com/10869/2006/open/fastcast/archive03/032406_fastcast_350.wmv?ct1=mlb

My question is,

A. What is the command to play video and what is URL, is

mplayer -cache 512 <url here>

or

mplayer -cache 512 mms://<url here>

B. How do I get the URL of the LIVE streaming games from mlb.tv

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

So I tried this command

mplayer 'http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/scripts/mediaplayer/mp_browser.jsp?w_id=480416&w=reflector%3A60386&pid=mlb_lg&gid=2006/07/22/oakmlb-detmlb-1&cid=mlb&fid=mlb_lg350&v=2' -cache 512

What am I doing wrong?

and I get this error message,

Maybe try reinstalling win32codecs cause for me the command you have in the code part brings up the video.

Did you follow SF or use yum to install the atrpms w32codec?

I don't know, can you give me an explanation of how to do both, all I know is I when to /usr/lib/win32 and the files were there.

There may be some confusion here so let me bring everybody to the same page,

The first post of the thread the link works fine and displays the video. The problem is this is an archive, I am trying to watch the LIVE games. So I was trying to get an idea of the mplayer syntax.

So in the second post I advanced further but received that error.

I went to /usr/lib/win32 and the codecs were there.

All this being said, where could my error be? I am using ubuntu.
