Hi,

Whenever i open the /etc/profile file as root or normal user there is no syntax and color
highlighted of the code but its for .bash_profile its working fine.My os version 2.6.15.

Is any configuration is needed?

Does the first line say
# /etc/profile?

Also, maybe somebody can help me, I don't get syntax highlighting as root but it works for normal users. Why's that? When I edit stuff like xorg.conf it'd be nice to have some colors.

Oops. I had automatically assumed vim but that's a dumb assumption. Well, if anybody can help me, that's the editor I was referring to.
