Config is in a hidden directory in your home. Delete that and it will be recreated when you restart the program.

.xchat-gnome

i cannot cd on it.

Open your home directory in Nautilus and on the 'View' menu choose 'Show Hidden Files' scroll down and remove it. Also check permissions on the folder.

this is weird. i did a fresh install of fc5 last night, installed xchat and xchat-gnome. i use xchat first the went to xchat-gnome. while i was doin ls -a on my home directory .xchat-gnome is not a directory. i did what you guys said to just del .xchat-gnome and install again. now i can access it as a dir.
