Hey Guys

Not sure if this is a hardware, software or other problem. I have two HD on a asus a8n-5x motherboard. /dev/hda is a wd pata drive with a hdparm -Tt trans rate of 65 MB/sec. /dev/sda is a seagate sata drive with a hdparm -Tt trans rate of 75MB/sec. If I transfer a 4.4gig file from sda to hda (or the other way around) it takes almost 9 minutes. If I transfer a 4.4 gig file from my file server( with bonded nics on both ends) it takes just under 4 minutes(to either drive). It was my understanding that the "newer" motherboads had multiple pci lines (nonshared) so that the bus would not get overloaded with data, which appears (to me) to be occurring. Is this a setup error someplace on my part? Any suggestions?

That's slow.

What do you get from

/sbin/hdparm /dev/hda
