I can't figure out the simple command to copy files to a floppy disk. KDE doesn't seem to have the Floppy Disk Drive in its file manager so I guess I have to do it as a command line thing. Can someone please provide the correct syntax?

Thanks,

KP

mkdir /media/floppy [press enter]
cat >> /etc/fstab [press enter]
/dev/fd0 [tab] /media/floppy [tab] vfat [tab] users,pamconsole,exec,rw,noauto [space] 0 [space] 0
[press ctrl-c]

now, go to kde desktop, right clik on desktop, select: ->Create new->Link to Device->Floppy device
A dialog box will appear, go to the "Device" tab, you will see a white rectangle with an arrow at it's end. Press the arrow, and select "/dev/fdo (media/floppy)"
Press ok, and use the new Icon to access the floppy.
SOme important stuff: before taking the floppy out, right click on the Floppy icon from the desktop, and select "Unmount"

and one more thing, the /dev/fd0, that's a zero, at fd0, and the comands are made in a terminal.
