View Full Version : kernel 2.6.17 broke ipw2200

Hi,
I just downloaded the latest kernel via yum and it has borked my
wireless setup.

During the boot I get :

Jun 23 19:20:14 localhost kernel: ipw2200: Unable to load firmware: -2
Jun 23 19:20:14 localhost kernel: ipw2200: failed to register network device

The firmware is present.

Any suggestions?

Upgraded the firmware to 3.08 from atrpms and all is well again...

And is that still using the the default ipw driver version 1.0.8 and the ieee80211 version 1.1.3 or have you upgraded from the default?????

Don't know for sure...just found out that I cannot awake from sleep with the
new kernel.

When it comes out of sleep I get a funny chime but video is dead and ctl-alt-del is
all I can do from the keyboard...
