Hi Forum, I installed fedora linux on my Acer laptop a few days back. There is no sound when I play an audio cd and there is no video too! it gives me an error like "totem codec..." something like that.

Any pointers will be appreciated...

Thanks in advance

I'd suggest installing Mplayer. See here: http://stanton-finley.net/fedora_core_5_installation_notes.html

Also read the part under Xine about installing the extra codecs as you'll need them as well. Totem is pretty much worthless as most people use Mplayer, Xine, VLC. Also open up your sound preferences and make sure nothing is "muted" in capture or device.
